AND NOW I FLY

When i learned the how a butterfly transforms from a caterpillar into the beautiful winged creature that captured my imagination as a child, i was struck by two things. First, that the instructions for this transformation live within the caterpillar from the start, a blueprint mapping the path to its most beautiful, bold, and expressive self. The second thing that struck me is how the caterpillar's form completely dissolves, and from this total dissolution the butterfly is born. What a stunning metaphor for us all as we unmake and remake ourselves in the image imprinted within us.

This collection is inspired by the creatures of the sky who remind me to release what weighs me down so that i may fly.
