As a girl, I played with three things: barbies, matchbox cars, and Breyer horses. This painting is about that time of life when our toys are as alive to us as any living being. We name them, we know their entire life story, what they fear, who they love, and what they want most. Dancer is for the little girls and boys who ever loved a horse and had the joy of being loved in return.
