ORIGINS

This collection holds the early years of my return to painting.

These pieces were created after a dream called me back to art. Once I began to paint I felt on fire, and painting became my priority whenever I had time outside of work.

My process was consistent throughout this period. I would begin by writing directly on the canvas—dreams, intentions, stories, and experiences. From there, I would paint in a loose and physical way, working with large brushes and layered color. I would then respond to what appeared in the painting, bringing forward forms or symbols that emerged in the process, or placing intentional imagery directly into the work.

Looking at them now, I see a body of work that moved me through a transformational period in my life. I see dreams, experiences, intentions, desires, and the shifts that were happening internally at the time.

ORIGINS is a record of change processed through creation. The pieces are diverse, but they are of the same unfolding.
